Outcome IV (Peer Review) – Be able to critique their own and others’ work by emphasizing global revision early in the writing process and local revision later in the process. This learning outcome is focused on the ability to critically read a peer’s project and make constructive suggestions for change, in addition to the ability to evaluate one’s own work and identify opportunities for specific improvement.  In the paragraphs that follow, I will describe my peer editing process using perspectives (ideas, claims) and the explanation of the text’s relationship to them.  In addition to local editing with signal phrases and in-text citations, I also followed the writer’s thesis to the conclusion.

By reviewing another person’s writing, it allows you to think about writing from a new perspective and not only assist your partner by recognizing possible mistakes or improvements, but also gain insight into how to improve your own writing.

I really enjoyed the way you composed your essay. Your insights and thoughts were very clear. Your level of organization throughout this whole essay was remarkable. Your own person experience with bullying touched me. I don’t understand why the teacher would tell Dylan to go down to the office when he was the one being bullied. 

I think that you disciple for tackling bullying is a brilliant idea. When I was in middle school, I helped create an after-school program called unified cheer. I put together special needs kids along with kids who were not challenged mentally but were not considered the nicest girls. This program helped show the bullies that although these kids may learn differently than us, they are just as valuable to this world. This is a really life example of how I can see your discipline working in the real world.
