Above is podcast that captures a soundscape of a practice from the University of New Englands Cheer team. My prompt for this project was to make roughly a 3 minute soundscape capturing the environment of Biddeford, Maine at UNE. I stuck with the theme of what I did for my audio postcard, and choose to pick the campus center gymnasium during cheer practice. I got to experiment with the Zoom audio recording device. All of my audio was recorded on it, and I feel like it helped with my volume levels! I enjoyed being able to be creative and capture my love for cheer. For my recordings, I set up the Zoom while we did our warmup to capture the soundscape. I also recored my narrations on the zoom. I used freesounds.org to help blend some of the audio together. Overall this project was the most fun for me, and I’m finally getting the hang of editing in GarageBand.
