Significant Writing Project
Outcome One (Significant Writing Project) – Demonstrate the ability to approach writing as a recursive process that requires substantial revision of drafts for content, organization, and clarity (global revision), as well as editing and proofreading (local revision).
This learning outcome is focused on revising in ways that strengthen the ideas and structure of a project between first and final drafts, and in final editing/proofreading at the end of a project.
When looking back at my rough drafts compared to my final essay, I noticed that there was very little mistake in the components of the essay its self, but the grammar instead. Some things I struggled with at the start of the semester were comma splices, sentence fragments, and run-on sentences. I worked with SASC to help improve these mistakes. When going over my final essay, I felt confident that I could recognize these mistakes and fix them. Overall I really enjoyed this writing assignment. I was able to personally connect with my writing, and I am proud to share my story.
