Final Podcast

Final Podcast

First off I want to just start off by saying WOW, that semester really did fly by super fast. Can you believe that this is our last ever podcast, because I can not! For my final, I choose 5 different podcast from throughout the year to reflect on. The ones that I chose were our peer interviews, soundscape 1, the expert interview, audio playground 3, and the scripted story.

Scripted Story

Scripted Story

For the scripted story podcast, I choose the topic on how medical insurance is not accessible for everyone and the negative consequences of that. I was unable to get an insurance agent to talk to me about this issue, so I changed the script and focused on how the topic affected my family. My dad, Daryl, is not coved my medical insurance. A little over a year ago, the unknown happened to him causing the whole family to panic. In…

Expert Interview

Expert Interview

For my last interview podcast, I choose to speak with my assistant coach, Cady Toussant about her job as a real estate agent. This interview was overall really fun for me to make and super easy since I am close with Cady. At practice, she talks quite a bit about her job, from an outsiders perspective it seemed working in the housing market was a lot easier than it is. She relayed details on all the research and hard work…

Milestones (Expert Interview)

Milestones (Expert Interview)

March 13th Check In- I am choosing to interview either my mom’s coworker, Hope, who is a medical assistant, or my cheer coach who is also a realtor. I think even though these interviews would be completely different, both of the people I’m thinking about choosing are full of life and will give me the best answers. In preparation, I will ask them what times work for them and line up with me, and de research upon that. March 24th…

Family Member Interview- My Mom as a MA

Family Member Interview- My Mom as a MA

For this podcast, I choose to interview my mom about her day to day job. I had some struggles right of the back for this one. I was supposed to go home to interview her, but unfortuently something came up on her end and we decided to just zoom. However, we couldn’t get the zoom to work so we had to just do a phone call. I was nervous about how well the recording would pick up her audio, but…

Audio Playground 3 – One Minute Story as List

Audio Playground 3 – One Minute Story as List

Above is a podcast that describes what goes through my mind while at cheer in a form of a list. I struggled with understanding this assignment at first, but after listening to my peers I felt like I got the hang of it! There was no specific prompt other than it being 1 minute long, and, as stated above, in the form of a list. I enjoyed being able to be creative and share some thoughts that go through cheerleaders…

Rodecaster Demo

Rodecaster Demo

During the Rodecaster demo, Grace, Makenna, Cassidy and I all dived in deep. Getting to learn about the equipment was fun, and a lot easier than it looked. To play around with the system and get some knowledge on how to use it, Professor Stafford has us make a podcast. She gave us the prompt to talk within each other for 5 minuetes about a topic of whatever we choose! We choose to talk about Ruby Frankie and the 8…

Soundscape 1

Soundscape 1

Above is podcast that captures a soundscape of a practice from the University of New Englands Cheer team. My prompt for this project was to make roughly a 3 minute soundscape capturing the environment of Biddeford, Maine at UNE. I stuck with the theme of what I did for my audio postcard, and choose to pick the campus center gymnasium during cheer practice. I got to experiment with the Zoom audio recording device. All of my audio was recorded on it,…

Audio Playground 1

Audio Playground 1

Above is my second ever podcast that I have done. For the first one I interviewed a peer, however this podcast had a totally different script. My prompt for this podcast was to make a 1-minute audio tour of a place I know well, for one specific person. I choose to pick the campus center gymnasium during cheer practice and dedicate it to future nor’easter cheerleaders. I really enjoyed this project, my love for cheer it bigger than my heart, so…
